Ruth never had a good life, she was always on the run ever since she escaped from the hell-hole where she lived with her mother. It was too risky for her. Her life hasn't been kind to her yet she learned to survive independently. She strived and survived but in return, she got turned into a monster. A monster that cannot be changed back into the young, innocent, carefree girl that was buried in the depths of her mind. That girl was lost many years ago. The orphanage was the only place where she stayed longer than three months. She stayed there for a year. She has a happy life there, she got herself a new family. She wanted to leave after her usual 3 months but she couldn't. She made herself a family there in the orphanage.

"Leah, Matt would like to go to his office in five minutes," one of the staff members at the orphanage informs Ruth.

Why is Ruth being called Leah? Let me explain. Ruth's full name is Ruth Alexis Grayson, only her brothers are allowed to call her Rue. Her oldest brother Noah is the only one who is allowed to call her Ro. Jade is the name of her alternate personality. Let's rewind to the beginning to get a better understanding, shall we?

Ruth is the daughter of Nico or Nicholas and Nicole Grayson, the previous Mafia King and Queen. She had 9 older brothers who treated her like the princess that she was. She was the life of the house. Since her parents were always busy her oldest brother took care of her like she was his child. Out of all her brothers, she had the closest relationship with Noah. At the age of 8, she had to leave her father and her brothers to go live with her mother after her parents split up. She hated her father for letting her go so easily. She hated her brothers for not stopping their mother from taking her away. For the next four years, she spent her life in a hell hole before she finally escaped. After that the next three years, she was on the run until she found herself a home in the orphanage.

Coming back to the point Matt was the son of the owner of the orphanage. He took Ruth in 1 year ago when he found her in the hospital. She nearly lost her entire family and he cared for her as if she was his own, not caring about her past one bit. And he normally didn't call any of the kids at the orphanage up unless it was serious, it wasn't unusual for Ruth to be at his office but she still was curious. Hundreds of questions and possibilities flew into her mind.

While walking up to his office Ruth started to think of all the possible things why she was called to the office. Once she reached outside the door however she buried all her suspicions for the meantime and knocked. It was silent until she heard a gruff 'come in'.

When she entered Matt offered her a seat with a grim look on his face "Take a seat, Leah. I have something to tell you, it's quite important."

Ruth's heart was pounding against her ribcage ready to escape as she asked "What is it, Matt? Is everything alright? Is something wrong?"

"There is nothing wrong Leah. It's just that someone came here today morning claiming to be your Legal Guardian. He wanted you to leave with him," Matt replies.

Ruth was confused. She didn't have anyone, she wasn't even sure if her dad and brothers were alive.

After letting out a shaky breath Ruth finally manages to say "I don't have any legal Guardians. I told you when You took me last year."

"He has every document showing that you are related to him. I cannot do anything about it legally. And according to the rules you have to go. I'm sorry," Matt replies with a guilty look on his face.

"I don't want to leave Matt! I have a family here!" Ruth pleads while on the verge of tears

After thinking for a while Matt replies "I can't do anything Leah I'm sorry. He says he is very closely related to you, even according to the documents that you are. He also promised you a life that you won't be able to get here."

"Who is this so-called Guardian? I know I haven't had a proper home, or a family for years until now. Who wants to come and take me away from this?" she finally decides to ask on the verge of breaking something from the anger that is boiling inside of her.

"Noah Grayson" Matt replies with fear evident in his eyes

The world went black for Ruth. She never expected to hear that name again.

Meanwhile in the home of the Italian Mafia.

"What happened now?" Jason growled at the woman who supposedly is his second in command and his baby sister.

"Relax brother, it's nothing serious but the shipments are going to be a month late. The cops are 'investigating' so far they found nothing," she replies with her signature smirk that adorns her face every single time after she knows that she has successfully annoyed the crap out of Jace.

Stepping forward Jace's face shows nothing but how serious he is he states with his voice dangerously low "Remember Alexandra if anything happens to the shipments not only is our status going to be damaged but we are going to be bigger targets to the Korean and Russian mafias than we already are. And I don't know whose side Noah will take this time."

With her eyebrow quirked up, she asks a question that isn't voiced out loud 'Noah as in Noah Grayson? The Mafia king and our mafia's biggest rival?'

"Yes Alex, Noah Grayson the Mafia king and our biggest rival," Her older brother replies to her unasked question

"When was the last time you guys talked about this problem? And I know that there is something that you aren't telling me. You and Noah used to be best friends when you were teenagers. What happened now?" Alex questions him, and she had a motive for asking and a good one at that

With a frown, he finally replies "His sister happened."
